Dear friends,
As this year draws to a close, we rejoice in the promise Jesus gives to every burdened heart: there is hope for those who rest in His light.
Each day we are reminded that countless brothers and sisters behind bars carry heavy burdens—grief, guilt, loneliness, and despair. Jesus calls us to share His love and care for others and to visit those who are imprisoned. We are not meant to keep our burdens in the darkness, but rather bring them into the light.
With your help, Dismas Ministry becomes a messenger of Christ’s light for individuals who are incarcerated. Through your generosity, we send Catholic resources to prisons across the nation.
- Prayer books, rosaries, and Bibles inspire daily prayer and provide the comfort of God’s Word.
- Study courses and prayer cards nurture the faith journey and facilitate healing.
- Support for chaplains and volunteers ensures these gifts reach those most in need.
Each package we mail proclaims a simple truth: you are loved and not forgotten.
Together, we can carry Christ’s light to those who dwell in darkness. Here’s how you can join us:
Pray
Lift up in prayer our mission and every person who will open a Dismas Ministry Bible or prayer book this coming year. Pray that we remain faithful vessels for the Holy Spirit.
Share
Tell friends, family, and your parish about Dismas Ministry. Forward our e-newsletter, follow us on social media, share our posts, and help spread the story of how God's light changes lives.
Give
Provide the resources that make this outreach possible. Your end-of-year gift—whether it’s $25 or $2,000, (or more)—brings prayer and Scripture to men and women who might otherwise never hear God’s Word of comfort.
Scripture promises that “those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength,” and by doing this we will see a new light in our lives. By praying, sharing, and giving, you help make that promise real for individuals who are incarcerated.
As the year ends, please consider a generous tax-deductible gift to Dismas Ministry.
Thank you for being a messenger of Christ’s light. Together we can heal the burdened hearts. May God bless you and your loved ones with peace and joy in the new year.
With peace and gratitude,
